What we collect, why, and where it lives: in plain language.

Last updated: September 25, 2026

This isn't legal advice, and it isn't a finished legal document. It's a plain-English starting point Erica wrote herself so you know exactly what happens to your information. If anything here is unclear, or you think something's missing, email hello@earswitherica.com and ask.

The short version

We collect your email, and Stripe collects your billing details on our behalf. We never see or store your card number. If you're a member, we keep track of your study progress so it follows you between devices. We don't run analytics or advertising trackers of any kind. That's most of it; the rest of this page fills in the specifics.

What we collect

Your email address. We use it to send your sign-in link, your receipts, and (if you register for one) your Kahoot session reminder. It's held by Stripe and by Resend, the email service we send through.

Billing details. Handled and held entirely by Stripe. We never see your card number, and we don't store any billing information ourselves.

Study progress. If you're a StudyHub member, we store your progress in our database (Supabase), keyed to your Stripe customer ID rather than to a user account. There is deliberately no accounts system on this site. What's stored: your XP and streak, how many questions you've attempted and gotten right in each study mode, which items you've seen, your accuracy broken down by topic area, and your flashcard review schedule. This is what lets your progress show up the same way whether you're on your laptop or your phone. Some of this also stays cached in your browser's local storage so the app works smoothly between visits.

What we don't collect

No analytics trackers, no advertising pixels, nothing that watches how you use this site for marketing purposes. No accounts and no passwords. There's nothing to create and nothing that can be leaked in a password breach, because there's no password to begin with.

How signing in works

You sign in by entering the email on your membership. We email you a link that works for 30 minutes; clicking it sets a cookie on your browser that identifies you by your Stripe customer ID. That cookie is how StudyHub knows it's you. It doesn't carry your email, your name, or anything else personal inside it.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of outside services to run this site. Each one only gets the data it needs to do its job:

  • Stripe: processes payments and holds your billing details and card information. We never see your card number.
  • Resend: sends the emails we send you: sign-in links, receipts, and membership-related notices.
  • Supabase: our database. This is where study progress is stored.
  • Vercel: hosts this website and counts page views. Its analytics use no cookies and record no personal information; we see how many people visited a page, not who they were.
  • Cal.com: handles booking and payment for study sessions. If you book a session, your booking details and payment for it go through Cal.com rather than through this site directly.

How long we keep it, and your choices

Your study progress stays in our database for as long as you keep studying with us. If you cancel your membership, your progress isn't deleted automatically. It's still there if you come back. If you'd like your data corrected, exported, or deleted, email hello@earswitherica.com and we'll take care of it by hand. Your billing history stays with Stripe according to its own retention practices, since that's where it lives, not with us.

Security

We keep as little sensitive data as possible ourselves, notably no card numbers ever touch our servers. For the data we do handle, we rely on the security practices of the providers holding it: Stripe for billing, Supabase for study progress, and Vercel for hosting. No system is perfectly secure, but this site is built to minimize what there is to protect in the first place.

Who this is for

This site is built for adult audiology graduate students. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site and StudyHub grow. We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever we do.

Questions

This page is a starting point, written to be read and understood, not a substitute for a lawyer's review. If something here doesn't make sense, or doesn't match what actually happens on the site, email hello@earswitherica.com and we'll sort it out.
